Friendlier Skies: Winchester Wrestling Shows Up for the Team

October 26, 2026•1 min read

Same Team, Better Weather

Last spring we hoped for friendlier skies. On Saturday, October 24, we got them. Sixteen wrestlers and five parents spent the day at the Transfer Station greeting our neighbors and raising support for the season ahead.

What stood out most was how the team showed up. Many wrestlers signed up for more than one shift, stayed well past their scheduled time, and kept their energy up all day. Parents did the same, giving more time and effort than anyone asked of them. A freshman joined right in, working side by side with veterans weeks before the season begins. That is the team we are building: older wrestlers who make room for new ones, families who pitch in without being asked, and a group that pulls together when no one is keeping score.

Thank you to every wrestler and parent who gave up a Saturday, and to the Winchester residents who stopped to say hello and support the team. Every gift goes straight back into the program. See you on the mat.
